Homeschooling Day 5

Hi 4th graders!! How are you? Are you working hard? I hope so!
For this class, I will ask you to print or copy the chart you will have to complete and keep it for the moment we see each other again.

Are you doing exercises at home? Are you helping your parents with the chores?
If so, let’s move a bit in a different way! If not, this is the moment to start!

1)     Watch this video of Grover!

Exercising at these moments at home is very important.

Why?

-        Exercise benefits every part of the body, including your mind

-       It helps people lower the risks of some diseases

-       It increases strength in muscles and bones

-       It can improve concentration

-       Exercise reduces symptoms of depression and anxiety

-       It enhances self-esteem

There are many more reasons so let’s do physical exercise during quarantine in this COVID-19 outbreak.

But please, do not end like Grove!

2) Let’s work!
As you read the cards you have to move!

RUNNING AND PUNCHING

1.    Run on the spot with forward punches
2.    Punch the opposite arm with the opposite leg running

How quickly can you go? Try sprinting for the final 10 seconds.

SIT DOWN, TOUCH TOES, STAND UP, CLAP

1.     Sit down
2.    Put your legs out in front of you and touch your toes
3.    Stand up
4.    Clap your hands above your head
Repeat

STAR JUMPS

1.    Stand straight with your arms by your side and feet shoulder-width apart
2.    Jump upwards, bringing your arms and legs out to make a star shape as you land
3.    Jump upwards again to bring your feet and arms back to starting position

How many star jumps can you do in 35 seconds? Try turbo star jumps!

SQUAT, SQUAT, LUNGE, LUNGE

1.     Start with your feet a bit wider than shoulder-width apart
2.    Squat down twice
3.    Lunge back with one leg, return to standing and then lunge back with the other leg
4.    Repeat

Try to start balanced throughout the exercise.

MOUNTAIN CLIMBERS
1.     Start on the floor in a press-up position
2.    Bring each knee up to your chest one at a time

You will feel this in your arms and upper body!
(Stop and shake it off a few seconds if it gets too hard!)

3)  I will leave you my video doing these exercises! Join me! Let’s have fun together!

4) As I told you exercise is great and there’s no better way to exercise than to have a favourite move that you enjoy doing.

Do you have a favourite move? If you do, draw it here. If not, make one up!

How will you keep the move going? How often will you do it?

Complete the following sentence:

I am going to ____________________________________________________________

I hope you like it!
Lots of kisses,
Miss Iva
